Emma has extensive experience working with small molecules, peptide synthesis and larger molecules such as polymers from her time as a Senior Scientist and Patent Manager at anticancer drug development company Chemilia. She also has experience with food technology, medicinal chemistry and devices, and electrochemical materials and devices.

Emma works closely with clients, crafting intellectual property strategies throughout the patenting process to provide effective protection.
She regularly works with start-ups as part of AWA’s partnership with Medeon Incubator, highlighting the importance of IP strategies early in the corporate life cycle.
Emma is a member of AWA’s IP Search and Analytics Team, training and supporting attorneys with searches and watches.
She has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from KTH in Stockholm and a Postdoc from the University of Oxford. She was a Patent Examiner at the Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV), specialising in chemistry-related inventions.
Emma’s experience from all aspects of the patent cycle allows her to relate to inventors and fully capture and protect their innovations.
