Malina Haag

Malina works mainly in the fields of physics and electronics, and areas of special expertise include optics, sensor technologies, sensor data processing, image processing, wireless communication technologies, measurement and calibration technologies, as well as devices based on electrically conductive polymers such as electrochromic displays and solar cells.
Malina drafts and prosecutes patent applications for many different clients, primarily before the European Patent Office (EPO). She also works with patentability assessments, opposition cases, infringement investigations and validity assessments. Moreover, Malina has a keen interest in recent Case Law, e.g., from the EPO.
In addition, Malina is account manager and strategy advisor for one of AWA’s major clients, who is active in the field of machine automation and machine vision.

Prior Experience
Malina has been working at AWA since 2002 and as a European Patent Attorney since 2008.
Prior to that, she worked for three years as a consultant at a firm specialised in designing optical systems, which gave her hands-on experience of various kinds of optical systems, many of them based on image processing.
