Magnus Reiersen
Junior Associate, Patents
M.Sc. Engineering
Magnus joined AWA as a Junior Associate – Patents in 2026 at the Oslo office. He holds a master’s from the University of Oslo (UiO) in Materials Science and will defend his PhD thesis in Materials Technology and Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in early 2027.
He brings a broad understanding of materials science and technology, from the nano- to the micro-scale, across both functional and structural materials. In his PhD and master’s, he has worked extensively with the novel technology of metal additive manufacturing (AM) – mainly focused on aluminium alloys – and through his work established an in-depth expertise in this rising new field.
During his studies, he has worked as a Research Assistant, developing learning videos for new students on a Transmission Electron Microscopy course. He has also worked as a Research Assistant at SINTEF and co-developed open-source high-cycle fatigue simulation software.
