AWA Board of Directors appoints Joakim Hammarsjö as Interim Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of AWA Holding has appointed Joakim Hammarsjö as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Before rejoining AWA in 2018, Joakim was the Group Director of IP Strategy and Portfolio at the Volvo Group, managing a team of global heads, IP intelligence analysts and IP portfolio partners. He has also held positions with the Sandvik Group as Global Head of Intellectual Property and Managing Director.

Joakim holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Linköping University. He has also completed the Executive Leadership Programme at the IMD Business School in Switzerland and the Business of Intellectual Property Programme at the Chalmers University of Technology Centre for Intellectual Property in Sweden.

Joakim is well-known throughout the firm, having worked at AWA from 2001 to 2007 as a Patent Attorney and then rejoining in 2018. Joakim is currently a Partner and Business Area Manager (Energy & Greentech) in Sweden. Joakim possesses solid leadership skills and best practice knowledge from his previous roles at Sandvik and the Volvo Group,” says Nina Linander, Chair of the Board of Directors.

Thor Mosaker will leave AWA. “I want to thank Thor for his contribution to the firm. Under his leadership, the One AWA Strategy has been developed to shape the future of AWA and ensure that together we outperform,” says Nina Linander, Chair of the Board of Directors.
